Sat-Comm a DSNG supplier for ASBU-MENOS
Mildenhall, United Kingdom, February 12, 2009 – OmniGlobe Networks EMEA and Sat-Comm Ltd. have qualified as a certified DSNG (Digital Satellite News Gathering) supplier for the ASBU-MENOS network. The announcement was made officially after the successful testing performed by Newtec at their facilities in Belgium last December.
Newtec’s MENOS (Multimedia Exchange Network Over Satellite) is a revolutionary networking concept that has been primarily designed for professional broadcasters and allows video and audio content to be shared amongst sites scattered across a large geographical area. Its hub, completed at the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) facility in Algiers last year, is the largest and fastest feed and file exchange network for broadcasters and corporates, encompassing the entire Middle-East/North-Africa and Europe, and providing advanced exchange services to its 25 broadcast members in the Arab world.
OmniGlobe, through its partnership with Sat-comm, will be offering ASBU a wide range of SNG products, including an ultimate 1.2 meter antenna system that can instantly convert any standard 4x4 dual cab pickup truck into an SNG vehicle. This type of approach is ideal where budget, timescale or legislation constraints preclude purchasing a fully coach-built vehicle.
Quote Sat-Comm: Tim Williams, Managing Director: “We welcome with the successful outcome of the tests, which once more confirms the capabilities of our Aurasat antenna system, and illustrates the dedication and expertise of our engineering team. We are proud to be a strategic partner of OmniGlobe, and look forward to a long and productive collaboration with them on the ASBU-MENOS network. Sat-Comm antenna systems and SNG vehicles are already widely used in the Middle East, and this positive news confirms our reputation for quality and reliability in this important market.”
